After the Blackfoot Ultra I was feeling good, recovering well and looking forward to more racing, then a slight twist while clearing the garage, and I felt a pop in my right SI area, and I couldn't straighten up. Fortunately I didn't develop any sciatica and I've had this issue before. Typically this will clear up in a couple of days, but this time it's hanging on. I'm now 2 weeks post injury, and fortunately I'm able to straighten up most of the time. Frustrating though it is, I know the right thing to do is to back off, and treat the injury properly. So this month's mileage has been pretty lame so far. Lots of stretching, glute and core work, along with manual therapy seems to have me back on track. I passed on the 5 peaks event this weekend, which I think was wise, but I'm still shooting for next weekend's Rundle's Revenge 50. Will see how the next couple of days go before making a final decision however. What is reassuring though is that once I get moving, I seem to be able to run well, and largely pain free.
